Educational Qualification: 

1. Specialist In communication, Public Awareness and capacity Building

Educational Qualification: Post-graduate degree in Communication, Journalism or a related field. Work Experience and other skills required:– Minimum of five years of progressive experience in stakeholder engagement, training material design, and facilitating coordination among members and organizations. – Experience working with state, national, or international organizations will be considered as an asset.– Demonstrated ability to lead virtual teams and engage with diverse stakeholders across multiple sectors.– Strong expertise in website management and social media platform administration to support communication strategies.– Exceptional skills in writing reports, case studies, AV materials and media articles to enhance visibility and knowledge dissemination.– Proficiency in both Tamil and English, along with strong writing and communication abilities.

2. Specialist in Data Monitoring & Documentation

Educational Qualification:  Post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field. Work Experience and other skills required Work Experience: – At least five years of progressive experience in data analysis, monitoring and evaluation.– Experience working with State, National or International Organizations is an added advantage.- Strong knowledge of data management and familiarity with portals and digital platforms. – Proficient in using computers and standard office software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, SPSS).– Well-versed in data compilation, organization, and handling techniques.– Solid understanding of data collection methodologies and analytical processes. Experience in using data to assess various road safety interventions.– Skilled in report preparation with strong interpersonal abilities.–  Strong writing and communication skills, as well as fluency in Tamil and English.

3. Specialist in Road Safety Aspects  

Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.Work Experience and other skills required: – Minimum of five years of progressive experience in the design and implementation of road safety and traffic management projects.– Demonstrated experience in project implementation in close co-ordination with Government authorities and community-based organizations.– Prior experience with State, National or International Organizations will be considered as an asset.- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.– Familiarity with GIS and statistical analysis software such as SPSS is a plus. – Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records, review and improve procedures.– Willingness and ability to travel throughout the state, including to remote locations.– proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as part of the Microsoft Office Suite.

4. Assistant

Educational Qualification: Under-graduate degree in any discipline; Post-graduate qualification is preferable. Work Experience and other skills required: – Minimum 3 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role in any organization. – Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.- Good typing skills. – Familiarity with productivity and time management applications such as Notation, Clip up, Trello, etc. – Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.– proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as part of the Microsoft Office Suite.– Familiarity with office equipment such as printers, scanners, and fax machines. – the capacity to work both individually and cooperatively.

5. Data Entry Operator– Good typing skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.– proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as part of the Microsoft Office Suite.– Familiarity with office equipment such as printers, scanners, and fax machines. Well-developed organizational skills.– Strong ability to manage multiple datasets effectively.

Educational Qualification: Under-graduate degree in any discipline; Post-graduate qualification or a Diploma in Computer Applications / Information Technology is preferable. Preferred Certification: DCA, PGDCA or a similar course. Work Experience and other skills required: – Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Management, Office Assistance, Administrative Assistance, or a similar role.– Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

About the Employer

Key Functions and Sub-divisions:


The department is structured into several sub-divisions and wings to carry out its functions effectively:2


  • Home Wing: This section deals with various aspects of home affairs, including the police force, prisons, fire and rescue services, and forensic sciences.3 It is responsible for the overall maintenance of law and order and the administration of justice.


  • Prohibition and Excise Wing: This wing is dedicated to the regulation of alcoholic beverages and the enforcement of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.4 Its functions include:


    • Prohibition Enforcement Wing: This unit works to curb illicit activities related to alcohol, such as illegal distillation, transportation, hoarding, and sale of spurious liquor.5 It conducts raids and coordinates with other law enforcement agencies to prevent the smuggling of un-excised liquor from other states.6


    • Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC): A state-owned public sector undertaking that has a monopoly on the wholesale and retail sale of alcoholic beverages in Tamil Nadu.7 The department oversees the operations of TASMAC.8


    • Narcotics Intelligence Bureau (NIB) CID: This bureau focuses on tackling drug-related crimes and intelligence gathering.9


  • Rehabilitation of Offenders: The department also runs programs aimed at rehabilitating individuals who have committed prohibition-related offenses, providing them with financial assistance and opportunities for social and economic reintegration.10


The department plays a critical role in enforcing laws, ensuring public safety, and managing the state's policy on alcohol and intoxicating substances.
