About the Employer

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is a joint sector company in India, established to plan, implement, and manage high-speed rail projects.1 It was incorporated in 2016 under the Companies Act, 2013, and operates as a "Special Purpose Vehicle" (SPV).2

Current Major Project:


NHSRCL's most prominent project is the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor, also known as the Bullet Train project.8 This is the first high-speed rail corridor to be implemented in India, with technical and financial assistance from Japan.9


  • Route: The corridor spans 508.17 km, passing through Maharashtra, Gujarat, and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli.10


  • Stations: The route will have 12 stations, including Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati.11


  • Travel Time: The limited-stop service is expected to cover the route in less than two hours.12


The NHSRCL is also responsible for training personnel to operate and maintain high-speed rail systems, and it has initiated the construction of a dedicated training institute in Vadodara, Gujarat, for this purpose.13
